Nick's Disc Golf History in his own words:

"I played my first round of disc golf with my dad after driving through Rosedale park shortly after it opened. we couldn’t find any frisbees or discs so took various sizes of bucket lids and played with them. big ones for drives small ones for putts which worked surprisingly well. It took me a few more years for the disc golf bug to kick in. 

Whilst walking through Rosedale park December 2020 I had an interaction with a guy called Robbie that wouldn’t stop talking about the sport to me and ended up inviting me for a round, in an attempt to end the conversation I said Yes. I was hooked on the sport by the third hole I went to rebel sport that evening and brought a Tui and a Kahu, I’ve been playing every day since rain or shine. 

Tournaments changed the game for me, having a goal that I could hyper fixate upon sometimes months in advance was incredibly beneficial for me growing and developing my game to perform the best I can. I played my first tournament at Waitawa regional park since then I’ve got to as many tournaments as possible and look forward to many more. My current goal is to win my first MPO event."
